Hi guys, I just came back after finishing ch 80, let me summarise some things for you guys, be aware, spoiler warning

1.So basically, our MC (kihyun) is the reincarnation of moony, who was the servent if the young master. Manager jeon is the reincarnation of the young master.

2. Let me clear out the back story first, so, in the past life, young master was a huge player, and he couldn't stand his servants for long, kept on changing them. He was very handsome so everyone was struck by his visual and he was annoyed by it (specially his servants). Moony was a huge stalker, he always looked at him, to the point it was really creepy, he'd get jealous of his male fuckbudies, at some point he was like 'I need to get rid of that dude master is banging', master ignored it till then cuz moony was a hardworker and he thought moony is better than having a servant who is even more annoying/unpleasant than him. But after moony's obsession was becoming too much, he planned to get rid off him.

3. At that time, in the village, there was a snake monster, the villagers dug a huge hole to catch the monster, young master led moony to that hole and told him to get down on the pit cuz he was curious, but once moony went down, he left.

4. After a day or so, as people were questioning why moony wasn't trailing after him, he said he left him in the hole and to go rescye him if he's still alive

5. Moony went into a coma, he was half alive, like breathing but no response no conscious, he laid down for months, the master eventually forgot about him, he was enjoying his freedom yet again, but after I think a few months he one day went to the servants quarter and saw moony, and he suddenly was interested in him. Why, I'll explain, but first let's talk about young masters kink cuz it is tied to it.

6. Young master likes non-con play, and later he realizes he has necrophilia (his growing interest in moony's corpse like body), he likes people that don't listen/like him. This is why he hated moony because he was always blushy/salivating looking at him.

7. A rumor starts in the village that the snake monster can shape shift into the victims that it eats alive. So in order to bring moony back (at this point, young master has stopped fooling around/drinking/banging and spends all his time looking at unresponsive moony laying down all day), he decudes that if he lets the snake eat moony, then moony will comeback and not die (moony's body has shrunk, and his comatose body will die soon). So he calls a shaman to help him, spends money to capture the snake alive.

8. The shaman is Yuran's anchestor (the lady in the office is Yuran), she is the descendent of the shaman that helped young master. Her family gets cursed for generation for doing something like this, the ritual, I will explain later.

9. The master tells the shaman to store away a fragment of moony's soul in an object, so that when the monster transforms, the corpse like moony comes back, because he doesn't want healthy moony back. The shaman is shicked and mumbles that she feels sorry for moony, because he met a bad master and will be turned into alive monster (her descendents bare this pity for moony for generations and also tge bad karma for this ritual).

10. So the ritual goes, they will feed the snake moony's blood, which will trigger the snake to transform into human form (moony's body), and consciousness. They store a fragmant of his soul into a bookmark that the young master once gave to moony. They plant to split moony's soul into 2 parts, so that healthy moony is not back. But the ritual goes wrong, reason why our MC doesn't have a soul at all, he is part moony but he himself doesn't have a soul, it's empty.

Even though both are trash, it is sad for moony because when alive, the master didn't like him, but when half alive, like a cirpse, he suddenly says he loves him (yes, this is what the young master continues to say). So this is the reason why MC didn't wanna remember his past, it was in the back of his mind, why he ignored and pretended to know nothing, because he didn't want to remember why the master likes him after all those time.

12. Let's get back to the ghosts we have, focusing on MC side. So, as of now, we can say, moony's soul is split into 3 parts, the MC (who doesn't know and is not aware of the past, till he sees through dreams), the snake one(extends neck, this is the stalker/blushy moony)(any time I mention snake soul/snaky, I refer to the old obsessed original moony), and the subconscious one hidden behind MC's mind(the monster moony, from the failed ritual, the one who seeks revenge on master and shaman), that came out only twice (I won't spoil why it came out). As for the manager/master, it is split into these 2. Manager jeong comes to know about his fate (that he and MC are meant to be together in this life) after MC and he visits Yuran and her grandma who is a shaman, who tells him.

13. The snake soul part of moony at first didn't know that MC is the reincarnation of himself (mainly cuz he doesn't have a soul of his own). Manager jeong immediately feels drawn to him, because MC is reincarnated with his type of face and voice. But since snake didn't knkw, he gets annoyed at him and even hates MC and sabotages him, hence he tries to get manager and Jumin together instead because he feels more related to Jumin (because jumin tried to approach manager but gets hard ignored lmao so snake is like besty lemme help you (end mf ends up sabotaging himself) and forces manager to ignore (and later) hate MC and be lovey dovey with Jumin by controlling his mind). Snaky also splits a part of manager's soul to replicate his body to torment MC and ruin their dynamic even further. But snaky, once realizes the huge ass blunder he did, comes clean to MC (by talking to him through Yuran's body) and says 'bestie I'm sorry, I swear imma help u get back together, all we gotta do is be loved by manager, cuz that's what we (moony) deserve'. So MC is like ok, I get it, but why do I have to be loved, you're moony too, so why don't you get loved and leave me alone and snaky is like 'bitch I wanna get banged as well but I don't have a fucking body, I can't get the juice, so it has to be you, I'm gonna get budhistava and go back to heaven as a virgin (yes, he indeed sats that, I'm not joking). So MC takes all these info in, gets banged by young master, manager gets jelly and argues 'bitch get the heck out, that hole is mine' (again, this exact line is in there, I ain't kidding) so master is like shut up and get sucked, so it turns out into a 3some for like 5 mins, (before this, master banged MC all night so he passes out). After waking up, Yuran is like 'why are you taking so long and pretending not to know anything, get manager's love fast and break this curse', she pushes him quite a lot and the moony that was hidden inside him gets angry and says 'why are you pushing him? Isn't it your own fault for accumulating a karma like this, are you gonna do this to me in this life again? (The hidden moony is hurt/angry and realizes why master likes him after being half dead and he doesn't appreciate it, so he's against MC sacrifice and trying for manager's love (well, I don't know he's totally against it, but he warned Yuran not to rush MC or force him), master overhears Yuran telling MC to try for maanger's love and he doesn't like it (yes, Jeong's 2 parts are fighting each other over MC, manager doesn't wabt him like this, he wants build up, but master doesn't care cuz he's trash), so he confronts MC about it. MC asks him why he says he loves him now when he hated him in the past life, when he was alive, master says bs about him loving how no natter how much he called him he didn't answer, didn't look or respond and he loved it and fell in love so he wanted the corpsy moony back. MC realizes how trash he is and his memories get triggers, he sees the backs stroy and wakes up crying. And says 'so this is the reason why I didn't want to recall my memories all this time'. This is how much I read.

14. Take a note of one thing, so the parts of the souks are vastly different from each other, for example, for MC, snaky part is the puppy/blushy/stalker moony that is obsessed with master/manager, the MC (reincarnated moony with no soul) looks like manager's type, and his personality is also how master would like it (he doesn't like manager, not blushy, not coy, hates non con etc), he doesn't want anything to do with all this and wants to get back to ordinary life. The hidden moony is hurt/resentful, realizes trashy master, is aware of the unfairness or cruelty of the ritual performed in him, is he hostile or not, what he wants- we don't know for sure yet. As for Joeng- master (trasy, player, necrophilia, kinky, doesn't care about any of the moony's feelings or consent, just doesn't want MC to die, wants to bang. Manager- wasn't aware of any of the shit surrounding his past self, was manipulated by snaky, is attracted to MC but doesn't want non-con sex, confused by MCs behaviour most of the time. Realizes what's his fate is after being told by granny shaman, doesn't seem to believe it fully, but hates when master bangs MC, and stops master (tries to, mf is strong).

Y'all I'm back, so yuh, master was telling him the story of his past life and MC is shocked and crying and grabs him by the neck, saying how could he do this, the keast he could've done was let him die in a friggin coma like normal. But no, he drained his blood and performed a failed ritual, he remebers the feeling of getting stabbed and all that followed. He's super angry, but master is saying that's not all, after the ritual failed, he did a lot of sacrifices to keep his hody alive, then a shaman came and told him 'if not this, then what about the next life'

Something fun is happening, so monster moony is mad at MC for remembering the past that he didn't wanna remember, so he's like you promised me you'd pretend not to know/interact with master again in this life and not recall the past but you did it, so I have to takeover and clear this mess. So he takes over, stabs master (yessssssss), says 'I gotta give you back the pain you gave me', master flees from body, manager gets back and is like 'why am I here, wasn't being stabbed a dream' and monster moony is liie butch how long are you gonna pretend it's not you huh?, I don't care, get stabbed, and goes to find Yuran, snaky is like why did you take over, you can't handle this, your body can't bear it, and nosty is like bitch move, I have business with Yuran. Honestly, well deserved, the revenge is justified (manager didn't die, he's just on the floor). I'll comeback after reading further.

Why can’t people just understand that if you don’t like then just stop reading it, if you’re uncomfortable, then just go away n look for another story which is not “incest”. Stop engaging yourself with something you feel uncomfortable with and stop shoving your opinion to others’ throat. If you don’t like it then it’s fine, different people have different preference after all. Stop trying to lecture people who does not share the same preference as yours

I kinda wish the side couple story is also translated.. Hahahah their story is interesting as well! And they had kid!

This is a long one hshshs

An incident planned by the Emperor and the king’s wife resulted in Shen Yu falling into a ravine and was found by the Emperor. They spent the night in a cave and the Emperor was smitten by Shen Yu. He couldn’t help but kissed him. The next morning, the King of Zhenbei saw both of them coming out from the cave and got super jealous. Thereafter, Shen Yu lost favour and their relationship was a downward spiral.

By now, Shen Yu was already deeply in love with the King, but the king ignored him and even took in another male concubine (HongLian, who later became General Song’s partner). It was heart breaking when Shen Yu saw shadows and moans of them having sex.

Shen Yu worked as a slave in the household and eventually told the king he’s leaving the household to look for his mother. But he learnt that his mother was taken away by someone...

Shen Yu was later kidnapped by the King’s vicious wife who hired a few burly men to rape him, only to be raped by the men instead, thanks to HongLian. Haha.. Good riddance! The King’s new male concubine, HongLian saved Shen Yu and the latter took refuge from the Emperor.

The Emperor was jealous that the King had such a beautiful concubine Shen Yu and wanted Shen Yu for himself. Yet, the King wanted to divorce his vicious sister. As a result, their relationship soured and the Emperor planned to remove power from the King. This led to a rebellion by the King who was later captured and was imprisoned by the Emperor. Shen Yu met the King in prison and asked for the whereabouts of his mother but the king refused to say and instead raped Shen Yu in prison. That day, the King managed to escape from prison and eventually succeeded in overthrowing the Emperor and became the new Emperor of DaJing.

Shen Yu went to find his mother but he was a step too late when his mom was killed during the chaos. He fainted and was looked after by the new Emperor.

The death of his mother devastated Shen Yu that he no longer felt the love for Jun XuanXiao. There was a lot of angst between the couple and now JXX wanted Shen Yu to stay by his side. Shen Yu only wanted to be free and he hated and feared to be with JXX.

An incident caused the King to give “poison” to Shen Yu. The king was devastated when Shen Yu downed the poison. It was not a real death because their doctor friend, Bian ShiSi gave Shen Yu a pill to pretend to be dead, unknown to the couple.

JXX finally realised his mistakes and that Shen Yu was the only thing he cared about in this world. But he’s gone. The doctor friend revived Shen Yu who started to talk a little. After awakening from his false death, Shen Yu started a new episode of life.

Subsequently, Shen Yu left JXX to look for his Chu Family. JXX wanted to be near Shen Yu but was afraid to be rejected by him. Thus he followed Shen Yu as his bodyguard masquerading his face with a ghost mask to hide his identity. He also pretended to be mute.

Now we have a role reversal! Shen Yu talks a lot whilst JXX is now a mute!!!! They spent time in the Chu family and Shen Yu was attracted to his mute bodyguard. Somehow a part of JXX in his memory was sealed off after his awakening from his “false death”.

After almost falling off the horse and saved by JXX, Shen Yu finally remembered his ex-husband. He suspected and was almost sure his masked bodyguard was JXX.

An unexpected attack by the Huns on the Chus which sent the couple to run for their lives finally reconciled them. That day, Shen Yu was about to marry his cousin Chu Ling to carry on his family line. But the Xiong Nu /Huns attacked and JXX came to his rescue. JXX promised to assist the Chu with his ZhenBei army if Chu Ling exchanged it with the mpreg pills. Thereafter JXX was injured severely and finally revealed to Shen Yu his identity. He tied Shen Yu on the horseback and told him to ride to the north to get assistance from his army and General Song Qing.

Eventually the Huns were subdued and the Chu family was saved and the couple had an ultra sweet happy ending. Too sweet, I was almost going to have diabetes!

There is even mpreg in this novel whereby Shen Yu got pregnant.

I just felt the change in JXX towards the end is unrealistically sweet and cheeky, it’s so unlike his initial character. But things change and people change through major life-changing events. Even Shen Yu became very talkative and bubbly, confident and intelligent and enjoyed reading ministers’ reports.

I remember reading the novel way back, and there are alot of dirty witty jokes about the emperor’s stamina in bed etc. lol but the most memorable scene was when the Empress & Emperor finally confessed their feelings and was acting lovey dovey when suddenly there was a messenger saying concubine Lin had an illness and the Emperor had to leave...

Then just before the ML left for Lin’s place, the MC asked him to stay with her because she just had this feeling that something bad was going to happen  though the ML still left the empress to see Lin but Lin was all fine, just wanted to eat something together lol so the ML asked Lin did you fake the illness you never did this before etc. While they were still talking and taking their sweet time together a messenger came rushing and told the empress was kidnapped from her place by some assassins...

Then the emperor rushes to the MC’s palace, only to see everything in disarray and calls for a horse to go look for her while everyone was discouraging him saying it was dangerous. He goes after the empress and finally finds her but she is bleeding and he was crying and shaking her body really hard repeating “Empress wake up/say something...” and he loses MC to the assassins somehow again (? I don’t really remember the details) and he cries hard recalling the MC’s last words “can’t you stay with me because I have a bad feeling something bad is going to happen”

The MC was nowhere to be found for 2 years and during that time the ML turns into tyrannical king and everyone says it is due to the death of the empress. The ML finally fell in love with her, only to lose the MC so quickly afterwards so he was devastated. She comes back after 2 years with a new identity and in the end, they end up together.

(And this one was the one that was already posted here)

After the empress’ death, the MC goes back to her original body (she actually knew she had to leave the empress’ body that day but so she asked the emperor to stay with her which became a huge trauma to the ML) and after two years she goes back to the palace disguised as a male escort/bodyguard due to political shenanigans. The MC was actually summoned for a reason, and it involves this radical group founded by the Ryeokuk’s royals who wants to assasinate the emperor.

MC felt somewhat attached to the group though she enters the imperial palace and wants to protect the emperor seeing how the ML blames himself hard for everything and turned into someone completely different. The ML also left the empress’ place exactly as it was before, and gave out harsh punishments for everything involving the ‘late’ empress. The story kind of turns into a ‘BL’ romance as naturally the ML is reminded of his one true love-the empress from the MC’s expressions/habits when she starts working as the emperor’s escort and falls in love. ML admits his feeling for the new MC pretty early on, even though he is a ‘male’ escort/bodyguard, because he really regretted losing the empress without admitting his feelings. The ML even gets jealous saying you should be my man even in front of beautiful women lol and that causes Gong Lin to panic again and she tries the frame the MC, and even going as far as recreating the bloody ML’s trauma by harming herself and then copying the last words of the empress to hold onto the ML (which is pretty messed up imo).

MC felt angry about that incident and tried to tell him the truth, asking what if the empress is not dead but just hiding herself due to circumstances...but the ML reacted pretty voilently and storms out to go see his concubine. MC was disappointed because it reminded her of her last day - even when it is extremely important, he always chooses Gong Lin. So MC starts acting cold to the ML, refusing the snacks he orders for her, not meeting his eyes, and trying to avoid eating together etc. ML was scared that he hurt the MC, and he didn’t want to lose ‘him’ too so he asked why he was mad and he will try to fix whatever it is which surprised MC since he would have never done this before with the empress. ML even confesses that he is in an unrequited love with him in front of everyone, and tries his best.

That’s why when it was revealed MC is part of the infamous group that abducted the empress, it hurt him pretty bad as he thought she approached him on purpose and how he really fell in love with the person who killed the one he loved the most. While in prison, she tries to say she was trying to protect the emperor all along, but the ML was very conflicted with his guilt for the empress. Then when MC is alone with Hoon, she confesses her real identity considering her group obviously abandoned her and left her to die, and to prove it she recounts how they met the first time, with the intruder and the stone... The prison guard listening their conversation was member of the group, so the guard murders the MC while Hoon and the emperor was on their way to the prison. ML sees another bloody gory dead MC, a repeat of his worst nightmare, is shook to the core for the second time.

Fortunately, MC goes back to the empress’ body and a lot of political stuff about this prophecy about her and how she will rid of this group from Ryeokuk. She is given three choices including one where she goes back to her original world and forgets everything. But MC chooses to stay with the emperor and goes to the palace and meets the ML. He couldn’t believe his eyes and kept asking Hoon if he was seeing a ghost and is over the moon when the MC comes back in the empress’ body. Then she teases him saying I heard you were having an affair while I was gone and then kind of explains all the prophecy/politics to him. She couldn’t come back officially due to the threats from the group and the ML wanted to kill all the people involved in the group right away, but MC persuades him to wait to avoid shedding innocent blood and work to eliminate all the discrimination against Ryeokuk people which was the root of all this. The stubborn emperor couldn’t even believe himself that he actually listened to her and puts out an edict while she is sleeping. The book ends with the emperor kissing the sleeping MC saying I can endure everything for you (or something similar) with tears.

I really didn't like the victim blaming in this manga."She was always gloomy." "She always acted on little things." "She has changed." First of all changing yourself trying to raise some self-worth is nice but putting all the blame on victim and telling that she have to change is most stupid thing ever. If your family is abusing you, whatever you do, however you change that's not gonna go away.If there are people near you that knows you're being abused and not helping you don't fucking need them.And that motherfuckers acting nice to you when you started being happy(normal?) fuck them. You don't have to wear masks and act like you're happy.And I have to say if no one cared about her multiple suicide attemps we gotta just burn the whole house down not "change" her.If people are telling you "just get it over, change yourself, don't stuck in past, just be happy, stop being depressed." fuck them not everyone have a good childhood or life. it's not as if she wants to act like a kid, she just can't help it.

She was an adult in her past life, but since she's a kid and everyone treats her like so, she'll unconsciously identify herself as a kid and therefore act like a kid.

It's like the Stanford prison experiment (or the psychological prison experiment if the name's wrong) where the guards (that were just normal civilians that were given the title 'guard') became too engrossed in their roles that they soon identified themselves as guards. Same thing with the prisoners.

^ if you're too engrossed in the role you were given (plus adding external factors such as your environment) you will unconsciously take on that role and act like it. It's like second nature to her to act like a child despite being an adult.

the seme's possesiveness must have derive from remebing his past with the uke and the sudden painful lost of his beloved one. seme's possesiveness is caused by his fear of losing his soulmate unknowingly since he didnt know that his uke would die so young. which is why he install a gps, stalk, and employ guards for Hosik in the present life.

In the present time with Hosik, the seme is being more considerate and careful than what he did in his past life which he was forceful wiith the uke due to lack of something.

And yes the past have very strict ways and sodomy is frowned upon in the past compare to present time where there is more freedom/ less restrictions. Plus, he kept leaving hints that he remeber his past life. For instance, he said "...soulmates..." to Hosik in the beginning if you know what i mean.

I think im not the only one thinking like this too since the hints and raws are kinda obvious.

Anyway i love all the characters in this manhwa. Sad that we are almost (as in several more chaps) approaching the end of this manhwa. T-T

All in all i am merely speculating and interpreting it the way I think may be close to the truth.

But I ship ML with the blond Male doctor. Hehe idgaf to what everyone think. Sad this is not yaoi nor shounen ai. Could've avoid them 2 women. Anyway I'll ship them in my fantasy. T--T Ugh man wish there will be some kind of doujinshi.....

I rather have River either be independent or find another lover, a human who a reciprocate the love back to River. Abandon gods.
