Can anyone stop for a second and just truly analyze the context of this story?
Ines NEVER LOVED Emiliano. The few instances she mentions that timeline where she married him, she almost always mentioned that she used Emiliano to get away from her royal life and have freedom. She eventually came to care for him and feel something close to love (WHICH SHE MENTIONS EXACTLY LIKE THAT) bc he did indeed give her freedom and a child, she “loved” the father of her child, not the man Emiliano was.
And bc Cárcel doesn’t know any of this (nor does he read minds) HE MISINTERPRETED EVERYTHING. He believes Ines loved Emiliano when he was just a means to an end.
And choosing to divorce her is a smart move bc of these reasons (according to the context in this story):
- Divorced women can manage their own life and choose to marry whoever.
- Married women can be lovers of any royal.
- A king/prince can take a married woman as a lover . This lover can only be with their husband (if they are married) and the king, they cannot be the lover of other royals.
- A king/prince CANNOT take a DIVORCED WOMAN as a lover and much less a wife.
Ines planned to become a divorcee bc it would mean Oscar will never be able to touch her without risking his title. Carcel doesn’t “fully” know this but he understands the gist of it. Therefore choosing to divorce Ines is the smart move for her to be finally happy.
That last bit of buying a title to Emiliano is just him being an idiot thinking Ines is still in love with the man.

Season 3 will show what it means to see Ines in love and the lengths she will tirelessly go through to protect him. Actually, Ines finally appears two chapters from now and her reaction is priceless. It just shows how in love she is.
Oh and that ‘him’ is Carcel. The only man she can truly be herself with, the only man who she already promised she will one day tell her secrets and the only man who she wants to give the best version of herself to. And all this she desires to do in a mere two years of marriage while getting to know the real him.

She was essentially codependent on him to earn her (shortlived) freedom and she knows that too, carcel is a few chapters short
Maybe it was freedom from Oscar but living as fugitives where she had to discard her name and use her waiting lady’s name by going as ‘Juana of Sevilla’…having to isolate herself from everyone including commoners who sunk her name in the mud throughout the country…having to live from inn to inn…spending nights plagued with nightmares and memory loss untreated…I don’t exactly know if it’s truly freedom or if it’s just freedom from Oscar.
Right now Ines Escalante is living the freest life she’s ever lived. She can come and go as she pleases and walk anywhere she likes in Ortega and no one can stop her. And one of these days soon, she’ll get a vehicle that gives her even more freedom to go anywhere in the world.

When season 1 ended I made a prediction that somewhat was accurate so I’ll be giving my new one.
Dan is gonna slip up lol he probably gonna sleep with that asshole just to get him out of his back and Jaekyoung is gonna notice that Dan’s heart is not on it (but he is too much of and ass to actually stop mid fuck). Then we are gonna have 1-2 chapters of Jaekyoung feeling like shit about fucking Dan again just for shits and giggles AND THEN we will get the chapters of him crawling like the insect he is to beg Dan for forgiveness.
I predict this for the next 10 chapters

Reading the other comments now everything makes sense to me.
Victor, in his drunken state, purposefully separated the three parts because the just wanted to bring Henry back with his face. He didn’t want his body bc, according to that last chapter, Henry was sleeping around with other lovers, so Victor didn’t want something that was already shared with everyone else. And he didn’t want Henry’s heart bc he didn’t believe Henry actually loves him. So all that is left is just Henry’s pretty face to look at for the rest of his life.
But with all three parts separated now we as readers, and also Victor, are understanding more about who Henry as a person was.
Turns out Henry really did love Victor or had some deep feelings for him(heart) at least enough to get horny around him (dick) but didn’t care about him as a person (head) which is why he had so many lovers despite having a “relationship” with Victor.
And another thing! We’ve only seen the relationship from Victor’s POV.
I’m gonna go on a limb here and say that Henry was just nice guy to Victor, fooled around with him, but he had a whole other life, maybe even a fiancée, and Victor got mad about being the “other woman”
