My thoughts exactly! I may be biased because I'm a huge Hagio Moto fan but there's something about boarding school settings that I adore.
And yeah it's indeed charming in an odd way, you rarely get that with "newer" manga especially those that get multiple volumes.
I remember the author of the beast must die saying the studio would force a sex scene within the first 5 chapters.
The artist literally drew him so childlike when he was explaining his reasoning. Also he's so unpredictable I love it. Most semes would've lashed out at their ukes but somehow this is as just as unsettling.
If anything its made the doctors actions even worse?? Like you had kids you would understand the desperation to try to save them + you literally just made a child an orphan
So what exactly did you expect him to do? Raise his hand alone to save the dad? Even though all the others would have voted against it anyways because they can't afford to make Guwon angry?
no the thing is he knows his actions werent good and on top of that everyone in the town knows they cant go against guwon because hes literally stronger than them. he crushed the doctors family’s heads like it was nothin. whats stoppin the whole town is the fact that if they arent useful theyll be disposed of either by death or bein thrown out of the town into a way worse environment. fear is one horrible motivator
It literally isn't going to hurt him to vote against even if everyone votes for and he chooses the crime not if it'll go forth so we don't really know if he would be angry yet.
Honestly I still can't comprehend the doctors actions since my first reaction to the murder of my family would NOT be that. It'd make more sense if he killed the dad out of jealousy since the dad had his kid and he didn't to me.
i understand the points your makin but the thing is we as the readers and then as the towns people dont know the true extent of guwons strength and hes obviously not human based on the fact he crushed peoples heads like no problem. on top of that all the towns people except for teach witnessed him do similar things to the people they love without even battin an eye. of course theyre all angry and devastated bout that who wouldnt be? whats stoppin them as i said in my previous reply was fear. the fear of the unknown specifically. guwons not human. if he is he didnt grow up like everyone else. hes proved that time and time again. hell we dont even know what he was like before the towns people came up with the rules for the town. basically the point im tryin to make is that if the towns people knew how strong guwon was they would do somethin possibly but they dont, hes docile since no one has done somethin(or attempted to yet), and they have the rules not just for guwon but for themselves as a reminder of how he was in the past and as a warnin that without them he could still be like that.
please dont take both my comments as me bein rude but in a apocalyptic situation the best bet is to find a way to survive and that the morals that you had before will have to be thrown out the window if you just want to live to see the next day ^^
I read the novel about chases grandparents and holy shit is it super fucked up. I was expecting dogblood and something similar to this but it was in a whole different league of fucked up.
