Saw a clip of the anime online and thought this was interesting... But forums say anime and manga are very different. People who read and watch both, which one would you recommend??

English is not my first language so excuse my grammar, but here is a quick summary:
There's two main couples
Couple 1 blonde uke & black haired seme
They're chilhood friends, in the first season uke usted to be very insecure and keep seme at distance but also was very selfish so he didn't like when he didn't pau him atenttion, seme was very in love with uke so he always did everything that uke said, eventually they got together, and when uke's sister appeared she tried to steal the seme from him, and manipulates the seme saying that she wants to make up with her brother, at the end the crazy bitch tried to stab uke but seme got in the way and got injured pretty badly, since then uke started to feel very guilty about that and in the final extras of season 1 they hinted that they broke off, but they didn't say why
Couple 2 (my favorite) black haired uke, tall blonde seme, uke liked to crossdress and worked dancing in some kind of bar, someday seme sees uke dressed as a woman and thought that was very Beautiful, like a doll, then discovers that they both go to the same school, and that he's a man, and became to obssess over him, then starts blackmailing uke to make him hang out with him, seme was very straightfoward and uke ends falling in love with him too, but then finds out that seme was going to study aboard since the beggening and his Mother finds out his hobby and saw him kissing the seme at the same time, and got very mad, making uke broke up with seme, when he tried to broke with seme he goes yandere mode and locks him up in his house, he even chained him up, but in the end he lets him go and ended going aboard and thats how season 1 ended

So im not asian and i keep getting confused about asian last names in mangas. Can someone explain it to me (its 4 am so please excuse my lack of googling)?
Correct me if im wrong but in the manga Dan is his last name and Yi-rim is his first right? (Same for Yeom Chong-ho). Is this how names pronounced in most east asian countries?
And is changing your last name after marriage is a thing?
One more question: why is there a - in the characters names in the manga? Does this mean something like they have two names? What does their names mean?
In Korea the last name goes first and the first name goes last so basically their name normally consists of Two syllables... for Korean names must have a 3 syllable name Last Name - 1 syllable and First name - 2 syllables like Yeom is one syllable which is his last names and Cheong-ho as his first name is two syllables... I hope this clears things up
In S.Korea and Japan, they have say family/surname first and the first name. So yes, Dan & Yeom, are their surnames. Not sure if that's true for other far east Asian countries.
The family name is more to do with bloodline (I think), so no in those countries they don't change their surnames after marriage. Korean first names mostly have 2 syllables. Hence the dash (-). Some don't. Like Kim Dan from Jinx.

also maybe you might be confused because the dan is the family name so it's dan yi rim but in athlete's shirt or tournament sometimes they put the last name last so the might put something like yi rim dan or yi rim d. if it's too long especially if they only put initials
