It’s sort of upsetting they won’t give us the full chapters making the story choppy because in the offices chapter 144+145 there is smut, yes a lot more detailed than the previous mature content but nothing showing his so I don’t think it’s too bad but is it really necesssry to cut basically the whole scene? I understand maybe the translators feel embarrassed translating it but most readers who read this are not kids dawg especially on a site like this, NSFW content is so common. I think it takes away from the story since there are a few realizations or things talked about during the scenes or even after where the translators skip.
Usually its because the sfw content is released first and translators jump on that.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of this story but I do enjoy it but I swear if the author makes hyesung beg for forgiveness or some crap like that….. Hes already been through so much and yeah, he didn’t want Byul because at the time he was basically being forced to keeping the baby…? To a man that he didn’t trust as he does now and that basically sexually assaulted him (chapter 19 in the original story). And while that’s of the past and Hyesung has forgiven everything and they’re happen now… I’d like Byul to be in his mother’s shoes and see how he’d handle it. Cause ik I’d be as upset and conflicted as Hyesung was. Of course Hyesung has done some wrongs but for Byul to contact Hyesung’s mother that abandoned him is actually crazy then to try to use his OWN trauma as a weapon.

100%. Everything you said is exactly why I don’t blame Hyesung for not wanting Byul in the beginning. He already had trauma, add onto that being forced to keep a baby with someone who sexually assaulted you.. Yeah I wouldn’t have wanted that life either. But he got his shit together and became a great parent to Byul.
Also, Byul is just a naive child. He doesn’t know the whole story so he’s projecting his feelings that are based off of misunderstandings. His parents haven’t told him anything about Hyesung’s mum or around the time when Byul was born.. So he’s piecing together the bits of information he has. If he knew the whole story, why Hyesung felt the way he does.. I don’t think he would be hanging around the grandma.
Like, I get it she’s changed so much and recognized she has bad habits but damn…even in her last moments her mother couldn’t even say she loved her daughter but instead realized her daughter loved her. Idk maybe I’m biased cause I’m adopted and feel abandoned by my birth mom but for Lyrica/Lily, I could not forgive the mom like yes she didn’t remember the past life but Christ bro… such mixed emotions
That's the point of the story. You don't need to forgive Lydia. Lyrica is the one who deserve the apology, and I'm sure Lyrica will forgive Lydia anyway. Remember the settings of this story and how bad their life before. They are powerless woman, got abandoned and needs to crawl from the bottom by themselves to survive. And Lydia's instinct is not parental love but survive. She is not loved by her parents. She is always trying hard to survive since she is young, that's why the moment Lyrica got captured all she can think is still about how to survive. Lydia's decisions in her past live is all wrong, but what could she do at that point? She gained power but she is nothing but just a lackey. Meanwhile in the current life, Lydia has the upper hand. She knows what will happen in the future, she also knows how to reach the emperor. She has better choice now. If she choose the wrong path again, then she is definitely stupid. But if not, she learned something from the past. She is a complex character, well written, and I like that she is so human.

yes yes. people are so quick to villainize characters without acknowledging that those characters were also victims. the same case as rashta from remarried empress. she's a pain in the ass but she became like that because of people around her

I was reading this as like a good bad read because it’s so cringe it’s actually entertaining but then I was NOT expecting it to get me emotional. I was expecting it to be those harems with beastmen but then they KILLED the Lang and I was like WHAT?? Hopefully it’s temporary but the female lead is so infuriating. She’s made so many bad decisions, so much for being an “ancient” and “higher” IQ woman….

If you feel sympathy for his childhood then that is good, thats the point of this. But if you still dont like him because of how he treated Dan and his SA, forcing etc. on him, then that is also good, because his backstory wont change his character that you know unless the author themselves changes it.
I only care that Cain got his happy ending. He was 100% better off without Jooin. Honestly I expected Jooin to end up with Yahwi even if he was pretty toxic. Jooin deserves Yahwi because they both were pretty shitty characters in general, Cain had his moments too but Christ did this story put me on a rollercoaster.
Yeah dropping this I cannot do it with this shipping thing. I hoped it was just for the Gl version but it’s clear the author is gross. The reason why I find it extremely gross is because I’m personally adopted (from a young age) and for some reason so much media (like anime) ships family members simply bc they r adopted. And it’s especially weirder/even more gross if the family members grew up together or gets raised by adopted parent and they become romantic. Adopted family is basically the same as any other biological family if they are raised together or a parent is raising a kid from a young age. You see whoever raised u as ur parent/guardian so it’s basically shipping son x father, it’s extremely gross to make that romantic.
the author hasn’t said anything about em dating or having feelings for each other, even tho i do agree their relationship is very weird. It’s an AU btw and IF there was romance in it, it will be only for potato and not for his « dad »

I came to read the recent chapters because of the backlash but honestly I just read it and I had thought it would only be a side story of her and Ijikiel but it was both Lucas and him so it’s not terrible. I do wish they showed a solo wedding of her and Lucas because it’s painfully obvious they were meant to be but it isn’t that bad and idk if it deserves a lot of backlash
