I think that's exactly the problem, life is a torture for both of them, but if after this Sasya disappeared(died) Karel won't have a reason to go on with everything that you mentioned... he will just let everything go, and keep the baby, that Sasya adobted ... I mean it's just my opinion, I would be happy if its finished with a happy ending of course
