this is just my understanding but i might be wrong. sorry if it's lengthy. I'll start with how the omegaverse stuff is slightly diff. than usual.

* male, female = ordinary species (can reproduce normally) let's say this is like beta.
* alpha, omega = extraordinary species. chance of getting pregnant is only during heat and knotting
* hybrids = their parents are 1 extraordinary and 1 ordinary (ex: male alpha x female ordinary)
* mutant = i actually don't understand this part if it's a child from 2 hybrids or 1 hybrid and 1 ordinary/extraordinary

youngjin = a hybrid omega, as according to him "he can't knot" and hasn't experienced any heat cycle (it was implied given that youngjin misunderstood his heat as being sick). he was (almost) infertile

seunghyun = I'm confused with this one but afaik his parents were hybrids so he's like a mutant alpha/hybrid alpha. he can't detect pheromones but he can still knot during sex. he can still reproduce.

if an extraordinary species had sex with an ordinary, the chances of having a baby is even lower than the alpha x omega. more so when 2 hybrids had sex. the more mutations, the lower chances of giving birth

however, seunghyun and youngjin — tho they're hybrids/mutants — knotted, youngjin experienced heat, and both can smell each other's pheromones. imo, the pheromone was an implication that they're fated partners or they "bonded" since seunghyun's the only one who can smell youngjin's pheromones + youngjin getting pregnant despite being almost infertile

It's correct that hybrids are the offsprings to a couple consisting of one Extraordinary Specie and 1 Ordinary(particularly female). They are typically ordinary species carrying the dormant extraordinary trait or the rare extraordinary one with infertility.

Mutants are, on the other hand, those infertile extraordinary hybrids wherein a mutation happens and their reproduction ability is actually fully functioning. However they cannot sense or has a hard time sensing pheromones.(President Seo, said that the reason only the two of them can smell each other is because they are basically a different set of extraordinary species)
