Pickles and mayonnaise asked a question

This is a genuine question (and it’s long asf), by hetero undertones i mean seeing gay relationships portrayed through a straight lens. now i was reading Baa-chelor no more! when i saw a comment saying “I'm gonna repeat what the wolf said, " I hate people with low self esteem and people who apologize too much" Just disgusting.. Why aren't there much bl mangas where the uke is confident and sassy.. Why are they all so pathetic like this one” in which i responded with, usually twinks get all the clicks and views, they also are usually much more meek and weaker than the seme because usually that the only catalyst to push forward the relationship or it literally the semes redeeming quality because most of the time it follows the ukes pov. i then pointed out that they’re almost always smaller than the seme too, almost feminine. now another person commented that feminine men do exist and that weak men shouldn’t have any connection to women at all. However i think it does, if we look at these stories from a gender portrayal perspective, can we not see tradition gender roles of straight relations just masked over two gay men? don’t get me wrong i know that it’s not all bls but can we not see the correlation? to point out that feminine men exist to counteract my argument doesn’t really make much sense to me when they aren’t the majority of gay men in real life, so why are we seeing it so often in bl? keep in mind i don’t want to shame anyone for reading these, because shit i read them too, but the people trying to defend the constant twinkification of ukes and then just saying that feminine men exist is kind of idk mind boggling to me? also an insane amount of bl are written by women in japan’s and korea, which are actually very conservative countries so whether it conscious or unconscious i think they do try to fit these gay men into the gender binary by making one more smaller and weaker. i would say that i’ve been seeing my buff ukes rise and im so proud because back in the early 2000s we’d see such criminal height differences like wtf. but they’re usually the same height. idk, i think i might die on this hill but im just wondering if anyone else agrees
