His feelings are hurt. She's all buddy buddy with everyone else, but even after gladly choosing injury to protect her, she doesn't even acknowledge him as her 'husband' in front of others... even if it's a woman interested in him. From his point of view, she's so distant, it feels cruel.

Yeah it makes sense that he feels hurt, but she’s still thinking of him as a violent assassin who attacked her twice. Also, even the most basic investigation would uncover the fact that there was no marriage, and that his current identity doesn’t exist
