I'm guessing Abigail is the leader of their little society and her goal is to feel less alone about being unmarriageable. Her wearing her sisters lipstick and dress already shows her true desires. She may even be behind some of the nasty rumours/things she said her sister has done. My long shot theory is her pairing her sister with Ryan so that she gets a man by proxy (again, very extreme theory). If this ends up being cliche, Abigail will probably start sabotaging soon.
