She never forgave him, but didn't hold any deep resentment for him either. And he's still the father of her most beloved child as well. As for why he went with her, she needed his blood to break the spell.
Oh shit nevermind the above post, I was thinking of the wrong person. The dad went with the mom because yes in this dimension he changed his ways over time. And he started regretting what he did and I think wanted to make amends with the mom by being with her properly?
