author saying illegal translations cut their income in half... like so your Korean fan base stopped buying chapters after the English scanlation came out??? Make it make sense @_@

The author said "illegal uploads AND illegal translations" which means the original Korean scans are being redistributed and depriving them of income. And even if it was only translations, you do realize people don't only translate into English, right? If every potential reader in other countries across the world translate and repost these chapters, then yeah, it would definitely cause their income to drop drastically.
I know we're all here on an illegal site reading illegally, but if an author expresses how that affects them, maybe the correct response isn't "make it make sense" :/

I'd be surprised if Korean raw sales even amount to 3% of foreign/overseas purchases. Sure, not only English but highly doubt other countries matter much, especially when people have said they wanted to pay for the raws but literally can't due to certain payment methods not being accepted. Also imagine there are like at least five different platforms for korean BL raws, if something isn't on ridi i wouldn't go through the entire r19 verification process again just to support a series i casually like. Platforms like nver or kkao dont even allow you to buy chapters w/o a korean number. Someone asked one of these artists to open up patreon so they could donate money, the artist said the only way is to buy the chapters.
And again, there are no English official translations... what an accessibility issue =_="
As long as you're on this website, there is no "correct" response. We're all here for one reason or another, but the outcome is still the same (no food on the table). Is it really the readers or the system at fault here? Anyway, idgaf if my opinion hurts the author bc logistically the industry is not sustainable if even the #2 most read bl on lzhin is not enough income for the author. And people always remember what happened with Roxana, something seems very shady about how these companies treat artists......

i'm not defending the author in any way especially about their choice of words, but people have warned mister aslan about his pirated screenshots for a long time now. his excuses are always assuming authors won't see his posts despite his large following and tweets always going viral, and saying he just found it on like google images when you damn well know that he's reading the chapters on these sorts of sites.
all of us are pretty good about not posting on social media, because we actually understand illegal reader etiquette and respect our fellow fan translators. tgcfied does not, and he posted the screenshots knowingly because he doesn't care like he's claimed to in the past. he says he never wanted to disrespect fan translators yet keeps posting the panels on twitter like lmao what???
i have some beef with this guy, mainly because it's incredibly hard to be a bystander and watch him paint five targets on his back and then watch him whine about getting shot.
if mister aslan wants to continue being a big acc on bltwt, i need this guy to lock tf in and be the world's biggest grifter. i need him to post screenshots of illegally shared officials and PRETEND to be a legal reader, like it's really not that hard lmao. then you can keep posting your dumb little captions to your huge following, fine, whatever. surely you can find someone within those 17k followers to provide you Korean raws. hell, I would even do it if you just asked me
tldr; this guy has known about illegal reader etiquette but chooses to keep posting the panels illegally to his 17k followers. he's hardly a damn victim, he's putting us (illegal readers who follow the rules) in danger because he wanted those twitter clicks. how else to explain his stupidity?
anyway... on an unrelated note, most of these KR authors are friends w/ each other. literally just saw the author of "Between the Lines" defend euja for their harsh word choice bc "using more lenient word choice for thieves doesnt work so why should we baby them". lol well then....

ikr like can we blame the pirater too, it’s not like he isn’t in the wrong. We all have some faults in not supporting the authors but at least most of us do not go around loud and proud that we use illegal sites . But obviously euja overreacted, it is completely unacceptable. Still, tho hopefully more ppl also after the dude and not only focus on Euja.

So true! Like fuck what the author said, the guy was caught 4k with his pants down! You know we can all get fucked over but you keep playing with fire!
Also I've seen other authors post harsh twts about illegal readers (not Euja level). Some have even said things like "You're stealing and going to make us starve!" Even though it's exaggerated, they hate illegal translations.

Apparently the artist cut the story off in a weird place seeing how confused the korean comments on the raws are, LMAO. Even they wanted to stop working on it

I took a peak at the raws to see if they ever had kids, the manhwa ends at chapter 103 but I didn't read the novel so idk how the original ends. But all the comments are like "what happened to the other half of the story??" "Did you get into a fight with the publisher???" Etc etc. So... drama~ lol honestly I think the artist is too good for this story and they should go adapt one with a better plot
Does anyone know if they'll go over their first meeting?
In the novel their first meeting iirc was in the extras
