A lot of y’all are complaining in the comments, and honestly, it’s not needed. No one forced you to read this, so stop crying about it. If you’ve been reading BLs long enough, this plot isn’t anything new. The author and the people "defending the manga" don’t deserve all this hate.If you can’t handle it, that’s fine. But plenty of others can compartmentalize and enjoy the story. Whether they’re desensitized or just into it, no one asked for some of y’all’s opinions. Yes, it’s fiction, and most readers do know the difference between right and wrong in real life. ( yes Im using this argument). Do you think you get some kudos points because you find it distrubing, news flash, we all do! but some are used to it and can continue the story. if you cant, then dont! go read cherry blossoms after winter!
‘It’s just fiction’ isn’t a shield from criticism, especially when the content involves rape and revenge rape. Saying people should ‘just stop reading’ ignores how media shapes perception and desensitization ANDDD Fictional stories that romanticize or trivialize sexual violence contribute to harmful norms, even if it's unintentional. Being ‘used to it’ isn’t a flex, it’s deadass a Criticism of this kind of content isn’t about being overly sensitive AT ALL it’s about having empathy and holding creators accountable for the messages they put out. Dismissing valid concerns as ‘crying’ only shows how deeply normalized this kind of abuse has become in some fandoms, and that’s exactly why it needs to be called out
I can never understand why you could go out here and have a full on paragraph defending shit, and please don't tell me you're a grown ass adult so you can tell the difference between reality and fiction
It’s just fiction’ isn’t a shield from criticism, especially when the content involves rape and revenge rape daawg. You saying people should ‘just stop reading’ ignores how media shapes perception and desensitization because fictional stories that romanticize or trivialize sexual violence contribute to harmful norms aand that's mad commonsense dawg, even if it's unintentional :| Being ‘used to it’ isn’t a flex AT ALL DAWG it’s a criticism of this kind of content isn’t about being overly sensitive, not at all, because it’s about having empathy and holding creators accountable for the messages they put out. Dismissing valid concerns as ‘crying’ only shows how deeply normalized this kind of abuse has become in some fandoms, and that’s exactly why it needs to be called out
I dont get how ya'll could ever defend such thing, and dont fucking tell me you're a grown ass adult and because of that you get to say that you are able to differ reality from fiction, because what the fuck is that mindset
"No one forced you to read it" true no one forced nonone. But if you try something new and it's trun out bad, morally wrong you have rights to complain. We shouldn't normalise this kinda heavy stuff when manhwa and this site is available for everyone. Imagine some underage finding this and out of curiosity reading this. Just think about it
AHAah , girl bye. go argue with a wall. Do you think your some type of savior by ''calling out the author''? Go fix that god complex you have. You are not saving anyone nor does anyone care about your opinion. At the end of the day, THIS IS A STORY. Its already written and been drawn up. Your comment on an illegal isn't saving anyone or stoping Lee from drawing the context.
I mean no disrespect. But reading previous replies i get what kinda person you're. Talking about morality to you is like arguing with wall. Fine, people should stay out own their own accord, you should as well shut the fuck up if you can't take complains. Maybe don't open comment section if you so sensitive to receive negative reactions? No on forced you to read negative comments and cry about it? Reading and defending that kinda shit,no wonder you're dense little fuck. The world is not sunshine and rainbow but it's not gutter. People do know difference between fiction and reality, but you know consuming this kinda stuff can shape your mind and brain in twisted way? You're good at arguing back not good enough to understand people who creat this shit and people like you who defend this shit is the real problem.
Ermmm girly pops? Mocking people for speaking up about harmful content isn’t the flex you think it is No one’s claiming to be a savior here (you'd understand that if you had an ounce of comprehension!!) but calling out toxic tropes like rape being used as entertainment matters, even if it makes you uncomfortable. ‘It’s just a story’ is a weak ass excuse when the story normalizes abuse. You’re right, the content is already out there and that’s exactly why criticism exists also
It’S jUsT fIcTioN! Cool, so I guess if someone writes a cute romance about genocide or makes a rom-com out of child abuse, we’re not allowed to say anything either? LMAOOOOO Imagine thinking that line shuts down the convo when it just makes you sound like a fan club president for moral rot. Fiction isn’t a free pass for trash girly, and if your best defense of a rape plot is ‘but it’s fake,’ maybe you shouldn’t be reading it without adult supervision ♂♂
Ah yes, the classic ‘life isn’t sunshine and rainbows’ excuse because obviously the only two options are rainbows or rape fics?? HAHAHAHA No one’s asking for a PG-13 world, we’re asking for basic decency and not romanticizing sexual violence like it’s sum quirky drama AND BLAMING PARENTS?? for not censoring the internet while you defend rape stories is WAYULD (wild) If your strongest argument is ‘well the world sucks anyway,’ congrats!!! you’re not edgy, you’re clearly part of the problem :3
I see alot of tiktok about BL's but their usually " if you read Bl your weird , why are fetishzing mlm". Now I get it , some people do really only bl for the s3x and that them but its like cmon now , if I was reading a st8 manga and they do the deeds its no problem bc its a st8 manga. Whats y'all take on the situation?
It's a losing the gender roles thing in a romance, I like historical novels and manhwas etc, where a lot of times a female character wouldn't be realistic, it would feel forced. Also I like how the ML are in focus rather than some barely relatable heroine. Bl and full out porn are also different things
Im not mlm but i am wlw so i feel like if you see two boys together, dating or friends, when you compare them to your bl characters, it kind of disregards all respect. Bl is fiction but gay men are real people and deserve to be treated like people and not like your favourite couples from your stories. If you enjoy bl, thats fine, just like Gl, but if you link real lgbtq couples to your fictional couples its kind of dehumanising.
When you enjoy Bl solely for the smut, thats even worse. And if you put yourself in any of the s3xual participant’s shoes/want to be in their place, you are fetishising gay ppl.
But thats what i think and again, im wlw (bisexual) so any mlm can correct me if im wrong
im mlm and i agree to everything nikkigt said so idrk what else to add to theirs but there’s no problem in enjoying or appreciating mlm romance at all!
but for a non-mlm that reads yaoi solely for the seggs scenes to be their fap material and puts no regard to the actual relationship or plot then thats pretty much fetishizing lol.
also if you’re (for example) wlm and you read straight mangas for the seggs then it’s totally fine because,, well,, you’re wlm and thats how wlm seggs works.
and yes, the fact that people do read yaoi just for the seggs is getting a lot more common but it doesnt mean that it’s okay for people to do it bc it’s “normal”. it’s actually very concerning on how it’s becoming so common.
I'm going insane. I need the story to be done yesterday! I can't waittttt.. and Josh is so fucking sexy!
