As a person who works on child abuse cases, the actions of JK's parents boil my blood. Say what you want, but the things JK has had to go through is worse compared to Dan's childhood. Dan at least had his grandma. JK only got people who sympathised his pitiful life. Lack of love in his childhood has caused him to grow aloof as an adult. From what I see, JK hasn't been good at expressing himself in words even as a child. He speaks with his actions. Even as an adult, JK helped Dan in many ways without many words. Even though he didn't say it out loud, he could probably have seen the similarities between his childhood poor self and Dan's recent helpless state, with his grandma in hospital. JK's like a cactus. Tough and resilient on the outside, but mellow within. People keep their distance from him afraid of getting hurt, and the one who dared to get close (Kim Dan) did indeed get hurt. Regardless, JK still tries his best to show that he cares, exposing the hidden beauty beneath his prickly exterior. It’s a testament to the complexity of his character, as he is evolving for the one who saw past the thorns. (Again, Kim Dan)
