because right now its seeming like its going to be an ending where they'll part to live their now healed and fixed lives apart
Like this story might actually be about two broken people who heal each other and heal themselves, sorting and fixing up their lives while falling in love only to be so healed enough to realise that if they want to continue their life the way it's supposed to be, they cant be together...

It's still continuing but I would disagree with you! I feel like the two of them are life companions who continue to navigate their individual middle age lives. The raws show them doing more romantic skinship but I definitely think they have their unique bond where they are content just to have the other by their side, even if they don't see each other much. I wouldn't worry about a split because they seem to share a really deep, understanding love for each other

Not an ending spoiler, but they basically confirmed their feelings in the following chapter! However, I do not think they'll be living together again for a while because of their different careers and goals (MC will be moving with his mom to take care of her in the future). But they have a deeper relationship and they have said they want to be with each other forever, so they aren't planning to end their relationship. They'll spend together their spare time and eventually they might live together when they retire and don't have other things going on.
so (american)mc got turned into a vampire in the 18-1900s then eaten when a bat, the creature who ate him got picked up by scientists or something and they froze them, years years later after being shipped to japan (?) he unfroze and turned into a human
he later on helps figuring out murders with his nose
i could go into more detail but i feel like the ones who know it will catch on by this description
