Not the same mom. But Asephs' dad was someone important. That's why they killed the mom and burned down the house.
I believe Aseph's mkm was the emperor's mistress. She was used to keep the Duke in check. The Duke and her were friends. I am not sure either.
my theory is that since they do have two different names and silvia (emperors wife) had a seal that aseph’s mom (sofia) and her aren’t the same person but they may be sisters or the emperor took sofia in cause of her resemblance to his late wife and that’s how she got pregnant.
