my guess is that reaper died trying to stand for his house/lord, because someone tried to burn the house down for treason (maybe it's true, maybe it's a framing). but even if he DOES get his memories back... I can't see yama or anyone letting MC live. like I think the best bet is having MC die, reaper finish his sentance, then they can both be reincarnated
