rereading this because i didn’t notice right away that it’s the same author as guiding hazard and damn… now i know why i never finished it before
there’s 0 chemistry between the mc & ml like you can’t even guess when he started to have feelings with the mc because all he did was take advantage of mc when he noticed he had feelings for him and r*** him
karis & sihan was so much better not just because they had a healthy relationship but even their subplot (which was kinda only discussed towards the end) was more interesting and made more sense with regards to how their relationship is now
we never find out what happened to that villain clan like even cecilia never mentions it. plot at the end is now more worried with mc dying first because he doesn’t live long unlike the ml — so now we just forget that the villain clan wants to kill ml and accept that he’s now safe(?) from them?
it’s also so irritating how Christopher did so much worse betrayal as he actually had a part to ml’s whole family dying but he gets away with it no one gets mad at him. I get he was brainwashed, but mc didn’t have any control with what happened to his memory because of the villain clan and only remembered when it was triggered, and cecilia verified that he had sincere feelings with ml, but Ryan was angrier with him
in my opinion, yes!! i enjoy the story too and it’s one of the guideverse bls i like. though I think maybe that has a different author than this one that’s why the way the plot for the other one is being fleshed out waaay different that this one (the romance in guiding hazard takes some time unlike this one which was so sudden )
oh really?! if that’s true then i agree cause the romance in GH actually takes time and i like the plot. this one i just pushed through to finish what i started when i realized i wasted all that time with the ml having no redeeming qualities or no regret/chasing arc whatsoever, and the mc is just ?????? i don’t even know if the author actually planned out the main couple’s story or just made it up as it goes and remembered they had to finally be inlove because the plot is about to end or something
I spoke about this in a review I did months/a year back when I came back and reread this with an older POV but the authors note at the end mentions that this could've been a story about the side couple and I remember I got SO mad cause they were such a better story to follow and it was such a missed opportunity and now I'm thinking that you're probably right! I'm thinking the author of this got really attached to the main couple as a side plot and decided to go with writing about them instead which is so sucky cause their relationship aside from being partly predatory and coersive is literally so toxic, makes me yearn for a universe where the author wrote a nice plot instead
currently rereading this again but the 7seas version this time and wow i forgot that naoto and hazuki were drawn differently before i know they’ve aged in the latest chapters but the art style is different like even naoto’s hair was kinda drawn more detailed before… just random things i’ve noticed σ(^_^;)

OH MY FUCKING GODDDDD the possibility of them switching being so well-addressed and it still didn’t take away the intimacy of the moment!!! THIS BL IS JUST SO PEAK
