Jinhyeong and Seongrik are definitely not friends now. At the start of their (Uyun and his) relationship, Jinhyeong had zero friends, save for some from hs he would message from time to time until he went into military service.
Ik this story is an adult comedy, but I think it’s also meant to showcase how their relationship helped Jinhyeong grow into a better person and improved from his adolescence, so yeah.. we do have to see the friendship fall apart unfortunately.
The flashback is just meant to show what happened and how different he is compared to back then, before he had a stable support system in his life. I think it’s similar to the flashbacks with his ex girlfriend, only this time it’s his best friend that he lost
Or maybe I’m rambling WAHAHAHA

Gtfo.

idk about y’all i don’t really see him as one of the “love interests” not until people started calling him a pedo which caught me off guard CUZ HUH WHEN DID HE SHOW SIGGGNS that he likes him???? people viewing him as a love interest when he’s seen him grow as a child says more about y’all?? cuz he’s more of a parent or brother figure to me
They’re both just teenagers who are stuck in a toxic friendship. Unknowingly, Seongrik built up a codependency on Jinhyeong. The friendship was bound to fall apart eventually, as they both built it up from their mutual venting and trauma dumping.
They aren’t mature enough to navigate through their difficulties together, or stop themselves from comparing each other’s situations. Comparison is the thief of joy. They’re just two kids who don’t know what to do with themselves, I feel like it’s a friendship most of us experience throughout our adolescence.
Since Jinhyeong has matured and showed growth since then, I wonder if he’ll try reaching out to Seongrik and try to provide closure to the friendship like he did with his ex-girlfriend. He’s a much better person than he was back then, after all, it’s been YEARS since this stuff has happened so of course he would grow, and hopefully Seongrik as well. They were just dumb teenagers
