No. I feel like he has an ulterior motive. When the dark haired guy caught the two of them having a convo after one of the dinners in the alleyway while drunk, he asked the producer if he liked him and the producer didn’t give an answer despite the dark haired guy constantly declaring his clear interest in that moment like a declaration of war.

Another suggestive moment that really stuck with me when the manager says “I might love [ratings/show content] it as much as my parents.” Meaning he’d pretty much do a lot of things in order to make his show gain attention. If you notice the theme going on it’s how reality shows work behind the scenes. It’s very manipulative. In this story, every single character except the spoiled rich guy was there to grab attention/money and were willing to put on gimmicks in order for them to sway public opinion and catch viewers. Our main characters are no different and therefore supporting my hunch that the manager has something up his sleeve and has ulterior motives

There was one thing I didn’t mention. He proceeds to defend the MC during their executive meeting about who should be aired, who should stay for ratings etc etc, the manager came to the MC’s defense and in the last panel of that scene he says “who knows? If he stays maybe we can get another story out of him”
[or something along those lines] Omg red flag right there The manager definitely has ulterior motives and I have a feeling not only was he going to use the feelings the MC would have developed for the manager...but as a whole of him being gay and maybe even his desperation and struggle to be a functioning adult and his severe attachment to his cat.
