I used to defend Jk's redemption arc but bro... It's just going in circles. It's realistic for character, sure but atp it's just smut stacked on smut as an excuse to 'progress'.
For one, this chapter (67) could have been a great way to actually kick of JK's redemption by denying Kim Dan's request for sex and challenging his central character. But no, his dick has to always get some ass because how else can he live without gooning every chapter?
I'm sorry but jk using the phrases "what's the big idea?!" and "why I oughta" took me out because why is he talking like a 1930s new york gangster lmaoo
Next match, he's gonna hit his opponent with a "let's scrap! Put em uuup!" Lolol
guys i actually think this sex scene is necessary
jaegeng is still thinking that dan will just eventually give in, so he needs to see how dan doesn’t give two fucks abt him. after they’re done, i think dan is gonna immediately say “are you done?” and then get up and go. and then jaegeng will be like “wtf??” and then realize he’s the issue (hopefully)
but honestly i was so proud of dan for being able to tell jaegeng to his face that he treated him like shit (▰˘◡˘▰)
There will be a redemption arc and I personally think this is merely the start of it.
We need to acknowledge Jk's character for a while and how stubborn and arrogant he is and this will apply to how he develops as a character. It's not like his development is going to be a steady upwards, it's clear he will have a much more 'interesting' and varied path to redemption (or I hope so.)
To allow someone like Jk to simply have a perfect character arc within a few chapters is honestly boring and not satisfying — realistically and in storytelling. As per Kim Dan, I feel like he is developing as a character as well (yes, even after willingly offering his body). He is tired out and just wants to cut things quick, let the boy breathe. He has also grown a much needed backbone which personally, *chef's kiss*.
Let's approach this story with a bit more nuance because it truly is an interesting look into the characters' psychology of both Kim Dan and Jk.
Why am I still reading this? Why is it actually engaging me? Why am I actually beginning to get intrigued...??
I get more irritated with Miller than I do Jkyng from Jinx and that's a high bar to pass
I can no longer see it as some 'psychological horror' or 'thriller' type thing because this plot is so butt-cheeks that I can only see it as just some fcked up porno
Okay so to begin, I completely and utterly do also hate Jkyng with a strong passion too but guys... Let bro have a way to actually have an arc
Like I've said previously, "I want hm to be a sopping, pathetic, man" but I also want to see his progression. I think it is already a good sign that Jkyng is not immediately justified neither did he immediately become a good/likable person.
As much as I am hesitant to, I am putting a bit of trust in the author that there would be an actual arc. Inevitably, of course, Kim Dan and Jkyng will eventually end up together whether we like it or not (Granted, Kim Dan deserves wayyy more than him)
