Dear people who say they don't want FL to be a therapist, to fall in love quickly or that the ML's trauma doesn't justify his behavior:
Hello! I read the whole novel (Korean-American so I read on Kakaopage!), and will explain before people drop this gem that's about family, confidence/self-love and touches on sexism amongst other modern topics. This is a slow burner that focuses on character development, royal family life, and healing

His trauma: His rudeness is his defense mechanism against women and the evil Abigail (read #1) He apologizes SOON (manhwa raws end at ch 15 of the novel; they have a serious talk at ch 22-24 [read #2]) In the story, 16yo is an adult. His mom and Stoke's adult daughter forced 14yo ML to marry and sleep with the latter (rape- he didn't want to but was coerced b/c it's his "duty") for an heir. Blanche was born when he was 15...

1. OG Abigail is a major bish but a lot was cut in the manhwa (sad novel reader noises). She harassed and tried to KILL Blanche, tried to jump(sexually) on ML when he's uncomfortable, etc. He obviously gets uncomfortable with her; she's a fairy tale villainess and remember this is a fairy tale world. It's explicitly stated in manwha ch 1 that this is an alternate to Snow White and Abigail's the Evil Queen, who in all versions of the story, tried to kill the princess.

2. ML & FL's healthier relationship starts SOON (they start a cute nightly hand holding session at ch 24 [read #3 on love]) with her consent and his apology + willingness to change. She helps him for her own reasons but still WANTS to help him heal and to be a family for Blanche. She enjoys seeing the father daughter duo develop, even if it's awkward to watch at times. ML will also put effort to change, even if he screws up/questions FL sometimes (Who wouldn't after OG was so terrible?). He acknowledges his errors, says his backstory, apologizes, and says that he will work to improve at 24 out of the 180+ novel chapters.

3. FL doesn't start crushing till about 1/2 of the story. Even then, she struggles accepting her feelings (cue "You have to love yourself before loving others"). However, ML is slowly drawn to FL once they work together (she's the only woman who geniunely cares for him). He treats her well and does his best to protect and make her happy. He develops feelings faster than her, but it takes a long time for him to realize it's love. They confess near 3/4 of the 180+ ch story

Spoilers about ch 22-24 below:

There will be an upcoming ball. To practice looking like a real couple due to pressures from Abigail's family, FL asks ML to try dancing together. He TRIES but fails, coldly rejecting her out of fear. Blanche tells him FL felt hurt and he goes to apologize at night, barely able to hold her hands when he confesses his past. She's sorry for forcing him to dance, but he says not to be and shakes while trying to wipe her tears. He says he should've told her his past beforehand, and that he is willing to try dancing and to ease his fears. They agree that while not lovers, they can become family. He quietly asks if they can have hand holding sessions and FL agrees, not out of obligation, but because she wants to help him heal and help Blanche have a loving family.

Tl;dr: Please read, it's meant to be detailed but if you can't just wait till the manwha gets to ch 22-24 of the novel

i don't really like yahwi but I think his being misunderstood. it's like he really like jooin but can't really express it then jooin sees it like his just a toy for yahwi. Please don't attack me it's s just my opinion!
