That part where Hayden talked about love, altruism etc. I felt so seen.
I kinda get how it's connected to Brett's upbringing too. Like, if he were in a normal loving family, he'd probably have different worldview about these things. But since he's been brought up in a home that kinda focuses on shallow transactional relationships to maintain social/political power, I can see why he's probably become such a jaded person who thinks he is not capable of giving Hayden love and commitment.
Idk man chapter 27 is making me feel so much feelings. I wish I read it first before chapter 28. Now I feel like crying lmao
