I thought the ending, although seemingly rushed, fit the story. there was never going to be a happy ending for ha yan so i think what the author did was probably the happiest reasonable outcome for her. fucked up. so fucked up. but the ending fit the story and fit her character. she suffered from mental disorders that would've made it near impossible to just have a 'wake up call' or start a new life even if she went to therapy. First of all there was no one pushing her to get help and Ha Yan herself did not think she needed help so that ending would've been out of the question entirely. Not every story needs a happy ending and i think this ending is the most realistic to the plot the author set up. they could've done so much more to make the ending feel more 'satisfying' but hoping for her to be magically cured from all her trauma and move on by herself is unreasonable. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Both yaoi and shounen ai (and a few non- BL) but all are so damn adorable and they healed my heart :’)
