Omg seeing the comments you realize that this story is legit not for everyone. People can't read stories without self inserting. They are angry for character's actions when the character is behaving pretty rationally to be honest. They think they would behave differently in the situation, but in reality they wouldn't. You can't really say how you really react to a situation without facing it, you are saying how a person should ideally act to the situation and not considering other environmental factors.
People are hating the girl for spreading rumors. Yes, she did wrong. But who are you to blame her when the MC himself doesn't blame her?? When thinking about how things could have turned out differently, the MC thinks at first it would have been better if he had told Jungwoo what the rapist did to him. (It is really understandable why he didn't say, please consider his mental state before saying this couple has bad communication). Then he thinks _it would have been better if he had realized the car glass hadn't been tinted and people wouldn't have noticed them kissing_ .
She was very in the wrong for spreading rumors. But think, you have a huge crush on a guy, and are also thinking he might like you back. Then you see him kissing a very older man. This coupled with a society which considers sex work and homosexuality as kinda bad?? She never intended spread the rumors that far, but the damage is done and she does feel guilty.
But y'all are hating her too much considering this is fiction and was a plot device to show how deep the relationship between MC and bf.
But f that rapist, you can't rationalize his behavior.
