Not the author using Hyesung's scars and past traumas as a driver for Byul's romance. It's tiring girl coz Hyesung has suffered a lot. This is why I kinda hate generational story tropes coz usually in stories like these, the first gen characters are getting thrown under the bus just so the new gen would shine. For all I know, Fargo purposely dug up Hyesung's past so that there would be a "REASON" for Byul and Siwoo to have a romantic moment—That kiss which I think is kinda out of place I feel like that kiss should have been on future chapters
