The teacher definitely has problems and she probably has a deep seeded reason to act and think as she does. Likely it's just something she developed out of self defense. Its easier to hate all of something than to doubt your hatred and grapple with the fact you've been part of the problem the whole time.

Really. It can be hard to confront anything. Especially when something impacted you so heavily during a formative year.

But just because she has a trauma, just because her heart doesn't know better. She isn't justified and she knows that somewhere deep down.

It's better to learn too late than not at all. Because at least then you can look back and understand what you've been doing. You may be too far to fix things. But you can stop and learn and help someone else know not to repeat your own mistakes. That way it doesn't have to be too late for them.

In the end. It doesn't matter what is or isn't justified. It's about learning to be better.

And as an adult. No as a person. I believe that teacher could be better. It's not quite too late yet.
