To be fair, he really does want to fight for earth. It's just not because he particularly wants to save anyone. Instead he just wants to live on earth again, and prevent the demons from turning it into, well, another hell. His motivations might be selfish, but he didn't lie about his goal being to protect earth from the demons. :P

The "heroes" didn't seem like particularly nice and friendly beings either. In my opinion, there's no real line between good and evil anymore. Murder is always a bad thing for normal people, but difficult for me to judge from the outside.

I think he killed that hero because he knows his real identity.. There was risk of letting that hero alive. And that hero knows the dragon's identity so he is a risked on kang woo. The mask kang woo wear is what only prevents him from recognizing
