The last lines was exactly what I was thinking. He cares but at the same time when his emotions takes over, he insults and degrades the uke. I can sense he has feelings for the uke but not enough since it seems like “he wants to take a possession over the uke” type not like that “wants to protect and care for him in a healthy and lovely way” type. They’re both a mess since they don’t want to acknowledge their feelings. Their overflowing ego is taking over them.
