Is it just me, or is this kinda weird? Like borderline pedophilic? And what's with the title?

Number one i dont know how you can say this is pedophilia cause he doesn’t have an attraction to him when he was younger nor said he did and I think the title is a metaphor of what that person said below you which is “cigarettes aren’t good for you but you want them reference to how the duke feels for him but think it’ll be better if he found someone else. And the song “cigarettes and chocolate milk” by Rufus wainwright”
Also it would’ve made sense if you did say grooming cause I can kinda see why you think that.

This shit is as toxic as it gets. Like js why, author?
There's no romance at all between them. ML trapped MC in a loveless marriage after drugging, raping and baby trapping him, threatening to kill everyone he loves and basically keeping him hostage for the entirety of the story.
Since that stupid looking rape baby appeared 2 chapters ago, they've had 0 interactions with it other than Zyrtec or whatever calling it a brat, carrying it around like a grocery bag and complaining that it's cock-blocking him for an entire chapter. Saw someone in the comments calling the baby a prop and I honestly couldn't agree more. He forced Kay to carry that thing to term, and now doesn't give two flying fucks about it ♀
And don't even get me started on that last scene. I mean WHAT the ACTUAL FUCK did I js read?
Did that grown ass man who's supposed to be the ruler of an entire kingdom (and we already knew he was fucked in the head by that point) THREATEN MC that he would KILL THEIR BABY and COMMIT SUICIDE because he finally got it through his thick head that MC didn't, in fact, enjoy being raped, forced into having a child and getting married?
I'd say something about how crazy it is that they're about to fuck in front of the baby, but it would just sound stupid. Like what am I even expecting of the rapist? To put his sexual assault on pause, get a servant to take the kid and then resume abusing his victim? "Hold on, I can't rape you with an innocent child in the room, it's not family friendly"
I think most of y'all who don't like this story and call it "weird" and say it has an "unnatural flow" are waaay too used to reading extreme yaoi manhwas where the top is very toxic and their relationship is abusive and rapey. This is actually one of the first BL's I've ever read that has a mostly normal flow and no toxic elements. The top genuinely likes the bottom. That man is YEARNING. Except for that one time where Eunsan was drunk and Ryu Ian didn't reject his advances (it wasn't really ok because one can't properly consent when under the influence), which was still tame, the story over all is good. There's build-up, there's a plot, and the characters don't have those stereotypical, copy-pasted personalities we're used to in yaoi manhwas.
Obviously, we all have different tastes and this might not be for everyone, but saying it's weird and unnatural because they're sweet and clearly still figuring out their own feelings instead of hardcore fucking from chapter 2, with perfect chemistry, is called being ignorant and complacent in consuming problematic media that's become normalized and associated with the BL community. We should strive to change that, instead of encouraging toxic relationships and abuse being used as media representation. :/
I hope this story will continue on the right track and not suddently switch to a nightmarish hellscape for the MC.
Right like I need more manhwas like this it’s so peak
True that. I find it quite funny that these ppl who said they don't like this manhwa just never got any good reason to hate it. Comparing ian to another rapey top?and said them being gross out of nowhere? So weird. Just say it's not your type and go read your rapey yaoi
It would be amazing if you start referring to the character either by their name or as ML and MC.
I agree with you. This manwha is very pleasant to read precisely because it's not the usual brutal stuff. I feel Ian's yearning, his efforts and insecurities, and Baek both unaware and not trusting himself. It talks about an actual relationship in the build, and not pure pr0n in pretty giftpaper.
