Idk about this, why is everyone in the desert lighter than the main character, who is not from the desert? Where are all the tan people
I hate when they treat child crushes like deep meaningful romantic love, it just gives me the ick.
I also hate how this manhwa just superficially brings up complicated systematic social issues and then doesn't deal with them properly. Like, just don't get into it if you're gonna bail. Most romance manga that feature slavery don't really strongly address it, so my expectations aren't high to begin with. But don't address it so half-heartedly
I like OP characters, so that's not my problem, but I just find it so incredibly irritating how the whole world revolves around Aryn. Why did literally all of her friends need to be alive for her in some shape or form? Some of them should be allowes to just rest in piece. I also find it fucked up how Jamil's great-grandson just ceased to exist so she could just continue living in his body with her memories, without it ever being acknowledged that his life was essentially overwritten.
I always cut stories some slack in the beginning, because they can improve as they go, so I noticed way too late how juvenile the plot is. The author tries to do political intrigue and fails so hard she has to kill the princess off quickly and unceremoniously and make the story about super powerful demons instead, whose powers function the same way hers do: super OP, but at the same time, easy to defeat.
I called MC OP earlier too, but really she needs constant saving whenever it's convenient for her to be powerless.
Another thing that bothers me is how Aryn is like: "Oh, now it makes sense that I was able to love you unconditionally, you're my biological child!" That's kinda fucked up lmao. Just indirectly admitting that she would love an adopted child less.
I would've preferred if this had stayed a fluffy surface level family story about them raising a strange child with occasional interference from the imperial family. The kind of plot we currently have would've needed a better writer.
I still recommend this story to people who like to read uncritically, it's kinda fun when you turn your brain off completely!
I have a hard time doing that, so I tend to have less fun in general :(

Even before the team got back together in the stupidest ways, i did wish for them to have a reunion— but not like that i wish they didn't make Aryn die for so long, bc if they're going to need the team again for some balancing the world typa shit mission, they def did NOT need an 80? Year timeskip at all. 5-7 years or anytime WITHIN their original timeline would've been fine fr, it was so unnecessary and made the grp reunion so ahh

Being the first to do it doesn't make it good unfortunately. No idea how they're gonna justify the Emperor being THAT bad...or how the redemption is supposed to look.
Ironically I think his redemption is like the one good thing/best part it pulls off. Which is why I think the genre has so many character archetypes so similar to him to this day.

It’s gradual. Tbh I wouldn’t bother, it’s not worth it. I think the childhood arc begins to get better around chapter 40ish and keeps going good but it quickly falls off after the timeskip and she gets older. I stopped somewhere around chapter like 170 I think? You’d be better off checking out the authors newer works or other titles in the same genre. There are a lot of newer ones that do it better.

I mean yeah, I'd love only good quality translations, but pretty much everyone uploading on here is breaking those rules, sometimes all of them at once.
The only rule that gets defended consistently, but isn't even on that picture is "don't snipe/upload over others".
