Omggggg I can't with this girl istg. This story is fantastic, believe me, it is, but this female lead drives me bananas. She gets so close to uncovering the truth, but then just lets it all slip away with his nonsense. I really hope she figures out the trap. I really do

No I definitely get it.. I wouldn't want to believe in that if I just read it from a book either. If I had to pick between cosmic horror and delusions, I would pick the delusions any day. It saves my sanity lol
Tbh I wouldn't really say she's dumb, just that she's a human who doesn't want to believe in the possibility of supernatural things. He's very manipulative, so I can probably see me being the same way, or perhaps even more freaked out than she is. She has more will than probably most people imo but she's the FL so thats probably just natural. If I was her I would have gone crazy long before she did... And idk if its rape if its consentual, though he did trick her in order to do all that with her so may be you're right?? Idk. I like the plot, but I can agree that its frustrating on our end. However, I can also partially see the character's pov.
I just wanted to read a story with a strong fl and after reading the spoilers, it's just a no for me. Good for you though!^^
