Im sure in the og novel Cliff would’ve abandoned the Emperor the same way (since the kidnapping was meant to take place earlier) but because the mc is Lize, nobody-not even the emperor who may have almost lost his life(idk how the og novel was supposed to go) would care. Cuz i recall the author(in current novel) mentioning Lize growing closer to the imperial family in the side stories of the og novel. So basically what could have happened was that because Lize is the mc, everyone was just happy Lize and the mom was safe and because the characters were under the novel control it just was brushed over for a happy end. I’m happy with this change to the manwha lmao. In the novel we really didn’t see any of the characters aside from Killian grow essentially their own thoughts and feelings and act on them. This is great. Dukie boy is a shit father but he is in the end a good Duke and dickrider of the imperial family. Also lmao Killian…that dude did not need to know all that. Tbf he was panicked
