She deserves better (FAMILY HOME RECOVERY 4ENDGAME, DON'T GO BACK). ML is a fucking manipulative piece of trash, he treats her cruelly for petty and childish reasons, doesn't see her as equal human. Wanted angst, but bitch, not only is he unredeemable, his 'repentance' is pathetic compared to what she went through (I've read the novel). Seriously, I wasn't that frustrated and pissed for a while. Wish I've never wasted time and emotions on that story, because it broke my heart too many times.

I know what's coming, I've read the novel to know what comes later. The disappointment with the grovelling arc is 100% directed at the novel, so future chapters from manhwa reader's perspective. Sorry if it wasn't clear in the first place, I guess there might be some hope the artist will change how it goes in the manhwa...? But if it stays as it was in the novel, it's not nearly enough for what Erna had to go through

9.6 it's so fucking good!! Work enemies to fuck buddies to lovers. And the two leads!! Gosh, I adore their character development, and the author NAILED their dynamic. Plus everything is super consensual and talked through, one of the healthiest BL relationships you can find
9.0 in my eyes. It starts out a bit cringy, the premise and art weren't really enticing, but after a long time, I decided to give it a shot. It's surprisingly good? Not masterpiece level, I'd say something closer to average, but the longer it goes the better it gets. When they actually explore all the characters, their past and their motivations the story gets more twisted and fucked up (in a good way, crazy shit). The art improves and the main romance is with someone who never hurt the fl, which is a nice change of pace. If you have better ones to read you can save it for later, but it's less bad than the rating suggests, just has a crappy beginning and first few chapters
The only good thing about it is its art. First of all, the description is misleading. She wasn't betrayed, she acted batshit crazy 'supposedly' for her brother, but never consulting him in person about anything. No wonder he wanted nothing to do with her. Her love for her brother is a bit unhealthy, but I guess we can bat an eye for the sake of the plot (although even one of the characters criticises it as borderline incest). What I cannot skip is how the Prince (ML) is enamoured by her with 0 reasons (in 1st timeline he started crushing on her when she was HIS STEPMOM!! She literally had his father's child (a brother!!! To ml!! And he still wanted her 200% despite her only poisoning, humiliating and disrespecting him)). In the second timeline FL is also obsessed with her brother, but this time by paying attention to him directly (why wasn't she in 1st timeline?? She knew NOTHING about him but still claimed she does everything for him, and then was mad he didn't appreciate it??). Prince (ml, her former stepson) immediately falls in love with her because 'you were the only woman who rejected me' trope. If he wasn't a handsome ML we would all yell what a stalker and a creep he is, persistingly haunting FL who clearly and directly rejected him in every possible way known to man, but rofan logic demands you ignore his refusal to leave her alone and dote for them because??? Reasons?? The plot overall is dull

Fl was a candidate for the CP but the imperial favor more is the red haired girl who died because she fell for ML's knight. Jaques was killed by her aunt because what he did to ML is a betrayal and embarrasment to their family. ML knew this but he let his friend died because that's the right thing to do. Now only the FL is illegible as CP but the Emporer strongly disagree which is odd because he wanted ML to marry. So he found out that Emperor is hiding FL to make her the empress. He visited her and disguised himself as a mailman. FL thought he was there as Dou's messenger. He notice how she dearly loves her brother even though they were supossed to be a rival. He was delighted that FL see her believed in him because she entrusted Dou to him. The very person whom FL treasures the most. She shows her what love is. He knew also that what she did before is to make Dou's status stronger. He wanted that love as well that's why he fell for her. Same in the present time, he saw how FL cared for Dou. It
was the emperor who stole FL from him.
Well, yeah, I judged it because we're 47 chapters in, I think that's enough to form my opinion. Great that they provide some explanation for why he fell for her in the 1st timeline, but 99% of the issues that made me dislike the story still stand. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion! I was just super disappointed, because I let it marinate for long, and it didn't deliver what I hoped for
Well your reason for disliking is incorrect. The ML did not love her just because she rejected him. That's the only reason why he got curious. She is capable on managing her state which is important as a CP. In her previous life, she was able to take down a lot of houses for Dou and even manipulate the emporer.m. ML was aware of this btw, but he was blinded by his love and he knew that she's doing for her brother. Her love for her brother might be weird for some people but Dou's was mistreated and neglected by their father. It is only natural for the oldest to be the parent. ML is jealous of how she loves Dou - because she's ALL IN. Who would not want that?? Also, it was hinted that the reason why Dou was clueless about what she did for him were their father's doing. It is wrong for him to love his stepmom in their previous life but it is not weird since she did not raise him. The weird one was the emperor for marrying a girl half his age and a crown princess candidate who was originally his son's bride.
Sure, the king is absolutely vile and I won't dispute that, and I would probably have no issues with the complicated family ties or romantic reasoning of the characters, IF it was written well. Maybe the novel did it way better, but I'm describing my experiences as someone who read the comics only. Some things felt rushed, some forced or unnatural, maybe things were lost during the process of converting the novel into a different medium, but the characters felt flat for me, and I'm really sad it turned out that way. I hope things will get better along the story, but as of now, I don't vibe with it and that reason is enough

9.3 in my eyes, this might sound silly considering the rating, art and premise, but this story is one of the best depictions of down to earth depression and the process of coming out of it. It's an adorable love story, the plot as in events isn't anything special, but I was presently surprised with how healing reading this story was

ML is extremely manipulative, while FL knows nothing and is very naive because of her upbringing. Meh, the plot also isn't grand. The setup: she stinks, but in reality it is because he, the royal and the beast, has to fuck her and impregnate her (and the stink is to prevent others from coveting the woman who can carry the special beast blood - ah, and women always die during childbirth of this beast-children, he is 100% aware, doesn't tell her anything and impregnates her (psycho behaviour). At the end he starts to care for her while she is already pregnant, and the magical solution is c-section
It's angsty, but the MC doesn't fold when ML suddenly acts lovingly, NO! Our MC does what many other MCs before her didn't have guts to do, hurts him intentionally for the years of suffering he caused her. She doesn't forget the past and brings up his mistakes any time it's relevant, AS ANY MC SHOULD WITH GARBAGE ML. Now, here is the point that probably makes people angry - the dragon is the ML. At first I was appaled, she deserves better, like every MC in the angst genre. Yet I gave it a chance, and the way is done is... surprisingly good? Like the whole 'cursed fate/love' angle is interesting, she doesn't have a choice in loving him, no matter how much she hates him, but MC STILL doesn't say 'OK, let's forget and move on'. It's complicated, accepting that your fate is bound no matter what, that the only way to fix your lifespans is having a child, and the core character of the MC is that she CARES FOR HER COUNTRY MORE THAN EVERYTHING ELSE. Their relationship isn't pure, it's bitter-sweet, toxic in some aspects, BUT GODDAMMIT, THIS IS FICTION. IT IS WRITTEN IN AN INTERESTING WAY. A new angle and approach to known pattern, reused over and over. No, MC isn't weak or dumb like some people say, she just cares for her country more than anything, and her bond with the dragon is not something she has control over (not like she haven't tried, mind you). I like that we see a girlie choosing to torment the ML just for the sake of revenge, you have my blessing. Could have the author choosen different path and make her not end with ML? Sure, that would be awesome. BUT did the author do a good job of exploring their relationship and settling for a (in real life) toxic, but interesting dynamic? Hell yeah. It's just a manhwa, not everything has to be green flag nice and peachy to be good. Overall, I find this one super refreshing
100% completely agree with you on this one. Relationships are complicated and people are multifaceted. The story is so well written and unique. The art is beautiful. I was already getting bored of the same thing over and over again before finding and reading this story. Everything doesn’t have to be sunshine and rainbows like you said. It makes the characters relatable and feel real.
