I hope the other guy found a cute boyfriend in those 5 years. I get the author wants to create suspense or heartache but there’s legit no reason to break up like they did and then not talk again for FIVE years. Do they expect each other to not find someone else? And just wait forever until ML decides he’s ready to reach out? Ugh. How is straight up breaking up and yearning for 5 years any less painful than a long distance relationship for a few years?
