I would just like to say that life isn't always black and white. Chika is quite obviously selfish and struggle with his emotions, he feels an obligation to his family but he also has feelings for Hotaka, but then he meets a girl whom he realizes might change his feelings about Hotaka so he uses the opportunity to let him go in the easiest was possible that he could think of. Masato and his wife have dealt with their issues in an adult way and Masato thinks about acting on his true feelings. Hotaka has been vague with his feelings for Chika throughout this story although Chika deceived him in their relationship, he has no obligation to give his emotions or body to anyone so he wouldn't be in the wrong if he rejects Masato and is angry about Chika.
