now THAT is what i’m talking about!!! a bit slow in the beginning for me personally, i cringed at some parts. it didn’t really pick up until ard 30 chapters in… when they started being able to tolerate each other

guys pls i couldn’t get how it was harus fault shigure died because he asked shigure to take care of shiro? like in mods it just seems like shigure died in a car accident, now it kinda seems like the mafia group killed shigure? but why? idk yall
I think Hair feels guilty bc he was the trigger for all the events leading to Shigure's death.
-Shigure was freed from his ties to the Yakuza, now he's free to live a peaceful life right? wrong
First turning point:
-Haru brought a kid full of debt who was still involved (unwillingly) to the Yakuza, bc he knew Shigure was kind and would help
Second turning point:
-Shigure tried to free the kid Shiro without paying (it's implied that he tried to help him escape)
Conclusion:
-The Yakuza target Shigure, kill him and take the kid back to prostitute him again
-A year later Haru takes the kid back and finishes raising him
so the moral of the story is date the boss or he dies… AND WE’RE GOING FOR THAT??? i HATE this side story
ehhhh they kinda just forgot the bad parts of watarus character and made him just “cool and suave” turned caring and mature. but what about the fact that he was overconfident, noncommittal, and a playboy within the same school year?? people don’t change that fast. and how the hell did wataru light the cigarette for him if he left the lighter in the break room???? maybe im just not one for convenient mishaps but we could’ve found a different way to incorporate the cigarette kiss… or maybe i’m just expecting a lot out of a 1 volume short n sweet. was nice otherwise but i definitely liked the other couple more, i got out the other book not liking wataru and got out this book… feeling like this is a different wataru
i think he gave him his own cigarette that was already lit (ig in the breakroom) and tried to light a new one for himself with the cig kiss
I was thinking the same thing and honestly I hate when authors just gloss over and do a complete 180 on a character's main personality traits just because they want to cash in on a side couple spin off

totally agree. i was in luck since i read the main story long time ago so i forgot a lot lol. but i haaatee when theres no redemption arc (AT LEAST!) like so unsatisfying
