so i read the novel im just on the current timeline where they meet again after 8 years
So there will some misunderstanding between them and MC saw ML hugging another girl. MC wants to break up since they are away from each other and they are literally so busy with their own lives, he didn't confront the ML on what he saw and he just know that one day it will come to that since ML is straight before
ML go to MC and asked why he wanted to break up and they talked about MC worries(excluding what he saw) and they makeup.
After some happy moments(they already did the deed as far as i remember at to this point), MC's dad follow MC which have planned to meet up with ML. So MC's dad know what their relationship and want them to break up.
But something happened, dad died in the car and MC having so many problems at once decided that ML will probably be better on someone else than him so he let go ML. MC still not verify what he saw on ML and just assume that ML is fuckin with him.
After that is the timeskip.
