this is a seven out of ten but i'll translate that into a four star. I have a bit of a soft spot for this manhwa, because in spite of it's glaring flaws I was very invested in the narrative. you can guess the ending off the bat but that doesn't make it any less satisfying. my strongest gripe was with the father, his ambivalence towards Minjae is reflected onto the reader, when you are made to feel sorry for him despite his horrible character. but his father's conflicting emotions are hard to read as anything but contempt, we never see the part of him that hates Minjae in contrast with the parts of him that loved him as a father; everything he does reads as conniving and malignant, every smile forced and followed by unmistakable disgust, even though he expresses regret during his final moments.
