I just finish reading this and can I just say that Zhushi and Dr Ai give off big Washing Machine Heart energy if you know what I mean. I think at the beginning although zhishu knew he shouldn’t linger on the memories of his past with Wenxu he couldn’t help but love him even after everything he did. So he tried to love Dr Ai and I think he did, but in the end he could never forget about Wenxu. By the way fuck Wenxu, he was so manipulative, he basically crated an environment in which Zhishu had no way to leave. Although the house was under both their names, he always referred it as MY HOUSE, not our house but my. And it seemed like never allowed shu to do anything without his approval first. He got too greedy and kept a ‘wife’ at home and his side lover by his side wherever he went. AHHHH (￣^￣)ゞ and it annoys the fuck out of me that after all that zhishu gave up to be with him he turned around and took it for granted. If he fell out of love he would’ve let him go, but out of his greed he kept him close.
