“I hate it when they do this in manga and stories in general, its “rivals” to lovers but they’re not rivals at all since one is so much better than the other in everything, so it’s really a one person rivalry and it’s very sad. Bcs while one of them takes it very seriously and is trying their best the other is there for funsies and vibes and doesn’t really take it seriously bcs they dont see the other as a threat (but of couuuuuuuurse its all good because all this time they were actually secretly in love with the other character and that makes it okay apparently)and that would’ve killed me if i was the inferior one.
I hate it when they make the characters on unequal footing, make it a huge plot point and source of insecurity for the character that feels inferior and then we’re just supposed to roll with it i guess. Somehow him falling in love is solving all of the issues. I get it that they tackled the “problems” in this particular manga (although very poorly and not satisfying at all and it made me mad actually)
but personally if I was shu I would’ve hit rock bottom if i didn’t have a job, met my source of insecurity, lost AGAIN to him, making me feel worthless and THEN, as a punishment, i should work as their secretary in the startup they OWN? Where they’re the CEO?? WHILE IM JOBLESS??
oh i would’ve kms im so srs, i would be self loathing to the stars.”
