And again... it's very rushed...
The art is pretty but it's really just a shame.
On one hand I feel like you should read the novel for a much better experience, on the other reading the novel will only make you frustrated with how much gets skipped in the manhwa. In no way was the novel a work of art, but the manhwa is so fast paced it feels like if you adapted a michelin dinner that takes hours to make, into a fast food menu

I read the novel from start to finish, I'm kinda "mad" lol
I've never read a novel adapted to a manhwa before, so this might not be new, but the amount of stuff that's getting skipped is crazy.
It goes from character descriptions that make a scene take a whole different sense when they're just drawn, to dialogs that get changed if not completely erased, to scenes that just disappear. Like, the scene of "Chase might have fucked a dog" said by an extra staff is said by an actor in the novel, and Chase bites his tongue off. There's just so much stuff that jsn't included in the manhwa, it changes the experience. Is it like this with every adaptation?
I think that's why the pacing seems abnormally fast, like there's just a lot of stuff that happens very fast, and I'm afraid it might "ruin" the story. The manhwa seems to be very "campy" to me. Meanwhile the novel's tone was way more serious during those same scenes.
Also, despite knowing what he looked like, I couldn't help but imagine Chase a bit differently when I read the novel. He is often described as frail looking in the novel, in the manhwa he looks kinda robust and pretty... wide. Like, I imagined him more as a tall dude with a slight muscle mass, but still pretty thin and with a more narrow frame idk lol

Yep that is how it is. Like i always say if ur willing to read the novel read it. It has so many more details and scenes that are not put in the manhwa. The story gets changed sometimes too. But since i am a visual person i need the mangas/ manhwas 1st then maybe i'll read the novel if i got an interest. Since i am picky i rarely read the novel. =0p

Look here. Have fun. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/

All those people writing essays trying to justify his behaviour make me laugh lmao

he's actually a good person cause he paid all the debt
he's just paying dan to have sex so it's dan's fault for falling in love
he's getting mad cause dan keeps messing it up ...
I can't count how many times I've read these kinda comments, and I don't even think they can come up with any other reasons anymore :)) like sometimes I wonder are these people actually adults, or are they underage ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Yes all you said is true but what people are mostly mad about is jaekyungs awful personality being so rude and mean almost all the time and for the craziest reasons (like when Kim Dan just buys him a birthday present, his immediate reaction is a crashout) even a normal person is not this mean, he seriously has something mental disorder, why he's so irritated all the time and just because his attitude is understandable doesn't mean they're ok. Everyone is always capable of changing

He literally r4ped Dan. Multiple times at that. Used him like an object, then threw him away.
Dan fell for him for whatever reason, sure, but JK kept being an ass and treated him like trash whenever he could. He didn't pay up the debt out of the goodness of his heart but as hush money + personal therapy + sex for an extended period of time.

I guess the revenge was cool but god these characters are so BLAND. I'm talking about the MCs here specifically.
The only reason why this was a fun read was because of Sumin spicing things up by being... well, Sumin. The MC was bland af and felt like a Mary Sue. She's not a bad person, just a bland, boring character because she's basically perfect in this second lifetime. Still happy she got to live this life after what happened to her in the one before.
The ML too, just a bland, boring dude. The unconditionnal love he felt for her was what made him a good match, and anyone would love to have someone like him by their side, but I was just bored with him. Like, what does he like? What does he do of his free time? Idk something interesting but his only personality trait is that he likes the MC.
But yeah it was satisfying to see everyone, from Mihwan to his parents to Sumin get what they deserve.
But I'm still confused on how, despite beig smart, the MC didn't see how fake Sumin was in their 20+ years of friendship, and didn't catch on the fact that her husband was cheating on her for 10 years, nor why she even decided to marry him in the first place.
So the revenge plot was good and interesting, the characters were just boring. It's also annoying how manichean they all are. Either they're angels who do no wrongful things in their lifetime, or they're the literal reincarnation of Lucifer himself. No in-between.
This was surprisingly funny and wholesome lmao
I wouldn't have minded this being much longer. They're both very funny
agree
