Also I'm gonna throw out a few super wild theories I thought about ten minutes ago; the duke is a doppelganger or something and the guy in the cage is the real guy but he integrated so perfectly that he now fully believes he's the real duke.
OR the guy in the cage is actually a doppelganger but the duke doesn't know about him for some reason
OR they're like twins or something and one of them turned out more normal than the other resulting in a dungeon porn take on blue exorcist where one gets locked away and treated like a monster and the other is raised perfectly but in this one the normal one was made to forget the other one.
Or it could just be some entirely random, nonsensical shit other than that and it's gonna either confuse the hell out of everyone or be the greatest twist since ties
