yes the topics are heavy but its not like the bottom just takes it and likes it, they are consequences and convos, everything isn't resolved in an instant. their relationship is a work in progress dealing with change, each others flaws its is realistic and handled pretty okay. i agree some thing are overlooked like crazy (stairwell scene) but individually each flaw is explored and worked on growth isn't a straight line its ups and down and that is what is shown to be true and honest with one self and being aware of your defense mechanisms and not relying on them.
