In this case, I really think it is good wirting so far. Tho' it's true I don't like certain scenes, they do seem curtial to understand the insight of each character, even more about Yuta. Tho' maybe it will become unnecassary if the author keeps using the same metod over and over again.
I am really hyped each chapter is updates, but I am a bit down aswell, because I really want a little happy chapter as ca.19... and it is obvious that the suffering and twisted mind between them.

is it? the characters aren't actually developed correctly, their trauma is also under developed in their personalities as well, the plot has an odd pacing and if Pear Boy is any reference, that will only get worse the longer the chapters go on, everything is mid in here (not the art tho), and considering the triggering super delicate subjects it has, it's concerning

Well, opposite than you, I do really think there's quite an interesting build up and development in their characters and their dynamic..., I did find it odd and maybe even confusing at first, but once I read it again and again, it was pretty clear what was happening from past to the present, still things to be mentioned in further chapters so we get the whole main plot.
But, I also think like you in a way, that it can become useless, dull and even unnecessary to the plot if the author keep using the same method over and over again about the sexual abuse and rape to make a point. At the beginning it's understandable because it helps us understand Yuta's insight and struggles and overcoming the fatality and brutal reality of his, BUT if the author keeps on doing so continuously, it will be just pure trash adding nothing but kinky dubious and dirty plot out of the blue.
Either way, I hope it gets better... I kinda have faith till the author proves me wrong.
I do like this one better than pearl boy, but who knows... If only all the chapters in here were like ch.19... ╮(￣▽￣)╭
