Gosh that ex is really delusional. Desperately clinging onto him by saying manipulative shit, and seems to instilling a bit of fear and a lot of self loathing into mc.
I understand why mc went to talk with the ml so soon, and then they can face the issue of the other guy together if, in mcs mind, ml still likes him, and i also get why he felt persuaded to get with his ex (although it doesn't excuse it) because often people repeat these cycles and resign themselves to what they think they are worth
