Growing up in an asian catholic abusive household with constant gaslighting and guilt tripping over any show of personality and individuality just makes me really relate with alan, i'm now an adult and as broken as ever, everything i do is met with scrutiny and self deprecation, my parents and the parents in this story is pretty much identical, they don't have their own moral compass and everything is based from "God" every decision and every rule needs to be aligned with the divine even though we were humans and will forever be humans
