The ML is truly monstrous, I had a hard time swallowing him or his actions, but the surrounding narrative, the deeper mystery alongside the perfect tension kept me roped in. The noose tied around my neck when the resilience and strength of the MC became clear to me. I can’t ever see this as a love story, but I’m already hanging with nothing supporting my feet.
