I thought the amnesia trope was a gimmick, the first 20 or so chapters didn't lead me to believe otherwise. I found the comedy stupid and inane; however I kept pushing forward and at some point, the crude became charming, the inane hilarious, and the gimmick, heartfelt. Both the cast and the rivals became fleshed out, and the baseball itself was gripping (and that's the hardest task). This story finds balance, a rhythm I can't ignore. <3 It's a satisfying worthwhile read! <3
