So I finished D:AZE and Dear 00 and now I'm looking for something with a similar vibe. I prefer bl but I'll also read straight (with minimal romance) or non-romance manga/manhwa/manhua (idrc about the format). I'd like the story to have more action than the ones I mentioned, where mc is actually good at what he does if not the best and ends up forming a strong bond/relationship with his partner or whoever he's working with. One where they really trust each other and depend on each other. bonus points if the story focuses more on the world-building or main conflict than the romance. I'd like for there to be romance but I don't want it to be the main focus of the story. I'm looking for more of a "these crazy things are happening around me and that's where most of my mind is at but oh look I'm somehow also falling in love with this person along the way" kind of deal.
I'm kind of happy that the antagonist side character was made mc's new partner? I don't have anything against the ml and the mc should be allowed to partner with whoever he wants but it's always been a pet peeve of mine when the mc has a reputation for having high standards or being out of everyone's league or something and the ml pops up out of nowhere and almost immediately gets whatever he wants with almost no effort. I'm hoping the separation will be motivation for the ml to keep improving but it's staring to look like the mc's health issues are gonna guilt-trip-no-jutsu the dad/antag side character into accepting the ml as mc's partner.
I mean the MC is working hard and honestly the dad's a POS for prioritizing status over his son's wellbeing but the antagonist male lead isn't so bad. Tho the way this was written was just...the chemistry between the sub and this antagonist Dom isn't working
Exactlyyy, sometimes what it takes for a person with high standards to fall in love isn't a generic perfect carbon but an imperfect hardworking person.
No I totally agree the mc is doing his best and the dad is definitely a bad parent for what he's doing to him. I just appreciate that there's more motivation for the ml to prove that he's a better match for the mc, since it was kind of a fluke that he beat the mc and got to partner with him in the first place.
Oh that's fair.
